As BrideforKen pointed out, it's been quiet. How about y'all give me some ideas?!
We're still pretty new to town (about 5 months here now), and DH and I would like to know what are some of your favorite things to do in LA which are free (or at least cheap).
We don't have kids, but we like to stroll along the beaches, go to museums, visit new parks, walking tours, etc. Can anyone recommend their favorite places to hang out on the weekends?
We're not opposed to driving, just don't want to drive 30 miles then shell out $15 for parking, $50 in entrance fees, $50 for food, catching on? I'd love to know hear what you seasoned LA Nesties do for fun.

Hey there! Have you guys been to the Getty? How about Olvera Street? Redondo Beach/Pier? Descanso Gardens? Arboretum?
Underwood Farms in Moorpark - pick your own fruits & veggies.

This Sunday there is a free concert in Pasadena put on by the Pasadena Symphony:

I love to go to the Getty...even just to walk the grounds, also Descanso Gardens and LA Arboretum are great.
Thanks for the ideas ladies! I haven't tried any of them.
DH keeps nagging me to go to the Getty, you all have sealed the deal now. BrideforKen, that trail sounds fun, we'll have to check it out.
Pick up a Pasadena Weekly..they are usually in the bins at most area restuarants. There are always some good ideas in there.
If your into nature I love the trails in Eaton Canyon and Chantry flats as well.
Venice Beach is fun to people watch at. Santa Anita race track could be fun for a day...if the weather is nice.
Oh yes Farmers Markets. Montrose's is on Sundays I believe, around where the 2 fwy meets the 210.
Have fun!
I love the Getty and the farmers markets. ?
Also, LACMA used to have free admission one day a month. ?I don't know if they're still doing that or not.
