Strep Throat-Remedies to ease throat pain

My son is sick with strep and I think he gave it to me. My throat hurts so bad and I'm running a fever. Are these symptoms?? My DS is on antibioitics, so he is on the mend. I am hoping to get to the doctor! My DH won't come near me:(

Re: Strep Throat-Remedies to ease throat pain

  • Those are definitely symptoms. One thing I did when I had a horribly sore throat was gargle with really warm salt water. It was disgusting, but did help ease the pain for like a half hour or so. Which seemed like a good amount of time since I was in so much pain. I also sucked on crushed ice, but that only helped while the ice was in my mouth.

  • It sounds like you caught it from your son.  Sad  Get yourself to the doctor ASAP!  Even if it is just a minute clinic or something.  In the meantime, the only thing I can suggest for the pain is chloraseptic.  (sp?)  I hope you feel better soon!  Strep throat is NO FUN.
