Hi ladies... I think you guys are the only ones that would understand...

The hubbie and I have been on the house hunt for 7 months and have not found anything!!! we were about to put in an offer on 1 home last month and someone beat us to it. Its sooooooo fusterating when our realtor finds one we fall in love and then the other realtor tells us...' we already have a contract for the full price but you can put in an nother back up contract'. Sometimes i feel its all a scam!! 

Then we have started TTC but i really want to have a home first (since im so DIY and love decorating) before a little one arrives.

I know how it feels! We searched for houses for about 8 months.  If it makes you feel any better, sometimes the back up contracts are worth it! We were the back up contract on our house and we got it when the first contract couldn't get financing! I would also avoid short sales, even though some people have luck with them. We waited over 6 months for a contract on a short sale that just fell through because the bank didn't approve it for "short sale" status.  Keep on looking! You'll find something perfect.

yeah, it sucks when you've found the perfect place and something happens, but you know looking back when that happened to us when we were house hunting, it happened for a very good reason. Be patient. Hang in there, land what mjz says....

It does feel like a scam, because the news has people thinking that there are a ton of homes on the market and no on is buying them.  BS they are buying them and there is not a ton.  This happened to us 5 diffrent times we would put an offer on a home and we would be out bidded.  Just stay patient and the right house will be there for you.  Also we paid the asking price for our home, because everytime we would bid less than the asking price some one would out bid us.  Take that in to consideration when you are putting in your contract.  Good Luck.

It's so hard not to get emotional about a new home. We went through some challenges to land our home last year. Best not to get hopes up, but it will all work out for you. Keep your chin up!

Charlotte I can totally relate!! But like in a pp said the back up contract sometimes can be a hidden blessing..We are about to close on a foreclosure where we weren't the highest offer..The first buyer couldn't prove the funds and then they came to us..Just keep looking and believe me we were outbid a few times but I can see now that it was all worth it...

As far as TTC don't let the house thing stop u...If you guys feel the time is right everything will fall into place! I'm proof of that!!

Thank you.... i'm glad that we are not the only one.

and YES!!! they are advertising everywhere that there are tons of houses and that its a buyers market, but there are so many people looking that the houses are in demand. and now no one wants an apartment or anywhere with ass fees since they are rising by the day. 

The hubbie and I spoke about putting back up contracts yesterday and that is what we are going to start doing.
