Do you ever...

...just look at your DW/DH/SO and think "how the hell did I get so lucky?"

It could be the two large glasses of wine I just had (hey- hopefully after Saturday I won't be drinking for awhile!) but I just looked at K so happy and content playing her $30 wii and listening to records that my heart almost burst.

We know we love our spouses but don't you just love the little surprise moments where all of the sudden it hits you?

  • I get those moments too!

You just feel overwhelmed with love and think, "I'm the luckiest girl."

I write sexy books. I read all the books. I love dresses & macarons.

lol! What part? The fact that I could be joining you in the land of KU ladies by this weekend?  Or that my wife can be delighted with a $30 knock off wii? lol!

  • Yes. I continually don't get it. All the little stupid things I complain about (oh, she's so picky about not having dishes in the sink, she watches such bad TV shows) are so insignificant compared to what an amazing wife she is to me. I just feel compelled to list the ways:

    1) Unconditional support, tenderness and sensitivity: I have issues, OK? I am super-sensitive about my weight. I lack self-confidence when it comes to my job. I have guilt issues about my massive student loans, my family, things that happened 10 years ago that everyone else has forgotten. And yet, Jen always knows what to say, about all of these things. She just listens?when I talk about my weight things, and says cheerful, positive things to me and doesn't keep bad food in the house and never asks me how it's going or what I lost this week or anything. Just silent support when it's going badly and vocal, loving enthusiasm when it's going well. She never makes me feel bad that I have saddled our little family with law school debt, and very much approaches it as just a practical issue like rent or anything else.?

    2) She has embraced my attempts at sportiness and provided financial, emotional and physical support to me - she's a great training partner who keeps me on my toes but never?makes me feel bad that she is faster and better than me at every physical activity we've ever attempted. She also constantly gives me?the credit for our triathlon and running habits in conversation with other people, even though she's out there doing every training run and race right alongside me.

    3) She loves my family just as much as I love them.

    4) She has a CRAZY work ethic that I will never understand, and a very focused mind.

    5) She's seriously way hot. Hottest little body, good dresser, takes such good care of herself.

    6) She's adventurous and loves to travel and wants to go so many places.

There is no way I should have ended up with this woman. I am so lucky.?

  • Yep, I have those little moments a lot and unfortunately she will usually catch me staring at her with this half-glazed look in my eyes.  And she'll say "What?"  And I'll say "I love you".  And she'll say "Yeah, whatever."  But she knows... I am constantly in awe of the amazing woman I get to call 'mine'.  She has been through so much in her life and just looking at her and knowing that makes me love her even more for the incredible person she has become.  She is an inspiration to me every day.  I keep telling her that 20 years from now I'll still be giving her that goober look (as she terms it) Wink
  • Awww, you are so sweet! And yes, I love those moments...
