So my son will be 5 months this week. He sleeps in his crib from 9pm to 7:30 am straight. The problem is naps, he will not at all nap in his crib but will in his swing, the swing has a weight limit of 25lbs and I can't rely on it forever, son is 15 lbs. I know people say to just let him cry, but I tried it yesterday and I had to go get him after 10 minutes of screaming, picked him up and he had a huge smile and fell asleep right away once he was in his swing.
Re: Advice please ;)
First of all, Congrats! Matthew is precious!
My 2nd daughter loved the swing & bouncer and like your son would more easily sleep at night and/or nap in that vs the crib. I asked my pedi about it and he said, so long as she's safe, not going to fall or sufficate, then let her enjoy the swing and bouncer as long as she meets the weight requirement.
Not everyone will agree with me and not all pedi have the same philosophy, but if you are ok with it and he gets his needed rest, let him nap in the swing.
You're right, it won't be like this forever, so let him get his rest where he's comfortable. HTH
Good luck! Best wishes.
