Best place to get married in Chicago?

My best friend is getting married next summer and her and FI are from Chicago but live in FL now. She needs help and ideas on amazing places to get married! Anyone have any great places (moderate budget) she wants something different and not the typical "confrence room" in downtown! HELP!

Re: Best place to get married in Chicago?

  • Have her check out the Chicago Cultural Center.  You can do it on a "moderate budget" but it's cutting it close.  The place is amazing.  I had my ceremony and reception there.  My pictures are on www.lifeonprints.com

Check out my photogs portfolio and we are a featured wedding Ghoncheh and Majid August 31, 2007.

  • I would suggest posting this on the Chicago Knot -- those girls are right in the midst of wedding planning and will probably have some good advice.
  • Do you have any additional infomration - like the number of guests, or what price point they would like to stay at?

Here are some non-typical venue suggestions:

    A New Leaf

    Architectural Artifacts

    Green Dolphin Street

    Harold Washington Library

Cortleau Commons (sp?) at DePaul University

    Fulton's

    River East Arts Center

    Maggiano's in River North

    Prarie Productions

  • In addition to above, tell her to check out the museums (Adler Planetarium, Sheddaquarium, Field, Science & Industry, Art Institute, etc.).
  • I got married at Wrigley Square in MP and had my reception at Gibson's.  It was faboo and very chicago.
  • 311 S. Wacker building holds events. sky-high palm trees in their atrium, it's pretty.  I got married up north (by Great America) at the Illinois Beach Resort. Talk about unique - getting married on the beach in Chicago!
  • Ditto the Cultural Center, where we got married.
