Springfield, MA ?s

Please let me know if there is another board I should post this on.

I'm going to be in Springfield next week and wanted to find some dinner spots that aren't the normal chain places.  I'm on business and will be with others who will be moving to the area.  I thought it might be nice the find some good spots in the area.

 Thanks Ladies!

Re: Springfield, MA ?s

  • Cafe Manhattan (downtown)

Max's Tavern (at the Basketball Hall of Fame)

Red Rose Pizza (very casual family place, fab food, also downtown)

The Cavalier (great Portuguese restaurant in Chicopee, not far from Springfield)

Leone's (I think downtown, I've never been, but have heard great things)

That's all I can think of right now...

  • I've been to Pazzo's (also at the Basketball Hall of fame) it was excellent. It's Italian and they make everything fresh and will make you anything to order, even if it's not on the menu. And it's delicious.
  • Student Prince is a famous German restaurant.  pp's covered the others.
  • Forgot about Student Prince, yum!
  • new place - Onyx in the old bball hall of fame.  We went there for happy hour a few weeks ago (just drank, didn't eat) but it was really nice inside.  LOL I even introduced myself to the owner.  <-- loser!
  • Thanks everyone, I wrote it all down and checked TripAdvisor.  Looks like we have a week full of good food!  Hopefully the work won't be too bad.
  • Pizza: Red Rose Pizza on main street

Vietnamese: Pho Saigon (it is at the "X" on Dickonson street) Great food

German: The Student prince....very good food (right off main street)

Southern: Chef Waynes Big Mamou (havent been yet, but heard it was fabulous) (Liberty street

Chinese: Joy of the wok (havent been in a while but it had really good food) Boston road

  • All good rest. rec's.. Red Rose definately has yummy food!

And if you guys are going out in the area Worthington Street with all the bars is right downtown as well.
