Hi guys, we are looking to relocate. I just wanted to see if there are any areas that we should really avoid... It is often hard to tell by listings... TIA!
Re: Memphis home areas
I know Southaven and Olive Branch in MS are very nice areas. Cooper Young in downtown-ish Memphis is also great - walkable, historic, eccentric shops. Also try Germantown, Collierville, and Arlington.
If you don't know by now, you need to know that Memphis has some very undesirable areas. Choose a good realtor who will look out for you.

No, sorry, I live north of Nashville, so I don't know anyone. (We have family and friends in Memphis.)
Maybe post on the MS board if you're interested in those suburbs and those girls could recommend someone. I guarantee you all the realtors in that area are licensed for both states if you look in Olive Branch but also Germantown. We live in an area that crosses the state line and all the realtors here are licensed in both.

We live in the Bartlett/Arlington area and love it!
I'd avoid Cordova and some parts of midtown can be sketchy! Stick with the outer 'burbs like Arlington, Bartlett, Germantown and Collierville!
I have a realtor if you want her info, let me know!
