  • I wouldn't say it's more popular in Kentucky than anywhere else.  I don't eat it very often.  If you were watching the Kentucky Derby and were referring to all of the commercials it's because KFC's parent company Yum brands was a big sponsor.

  • Well, the company is popular b/c they are one of the largest employers in Louisville and do a lot to support the city.  Now if you're referring to the actual food, I don't know, I would agree with pp that probably not more than anywhere else.  I eat there about twice a year, if that.  Interestingly, KFC does the majority of it's business in China and that market is really what keeps the company afloat.  It is one of the least profitable of the Yum restaurants in the states.
