Is there any where semi-reasonable that carries baby furniture besides BRU and Treasure Rooms? All the sets at BRU we like are backordered and Treasure Rooms has such horrible customer service that I get angry just thinking about going there? I am willing to drive to Quincy, IL to get a crib we like. I went to Carol House today because they were supposed to carry baby furniture but they don't anymore. I would love any other suggestions. I know Target, Wal-Mart, and JC Penny. I would like to be able to actually see them before I decide. TIA!
Re: Baby Furniture?
Not sure if this is the answer you are looking for, but we skipped buying baby furniture and just got kid furniture plus a crib. We use the desk (hutch/shelves are stored away in the basement) as a changing table.
This way we avoided buying two sets of furniture - baby and kid. We bought the matching twin bed, which is also stored away, so once he's out of the crib, we'll move the twin bed in and wha la - a kids room.
We spent a bit more on buying everything at once (crib, twin bed, end table, dresser, desk) but it will be his furniture until we kick him out of the house.
We bought the kids furniture at Ashley Furniture and the crib at Baby Depot.

Baby furniture was a hard thing to find in STL. We ended up buying ours from JcPenny, but you have to order through the catalog. I ordered on many many reviews from the BOTB board regarding quality, customer service, etc. The shipping is high, but we bought the furniture on sale (15% off, i think), so it was like paying full price, after the shipping. So far, we love the furniture. We love the look and it's held up quite nicely. OH, and it was reasonably priced! Unfortunately, there just aren't a lot of stores that carry baby stuff. Baby depot is another place we looked at but they had mostly light wood stuff and we were looking for cherry. (a year ago) you might post on BOTB because they mentioned a few websites that shipped for free, etc, i just can't recall them right now.
GL! OH, if you do end up going through JCP, make sure to get the shipping prices to your house and to the store. Some items cannot be delivered to the store (our changing table came here) and the dresser and crib we were able to ship to the store and go pick up, to save a little on shipping. looks at all your options! even different store locations are different shipping prices, so price them all.
