i need some help
So B is applying (pretty much a shoe-in) for a job in the dalles.
but the problem is all the rental property sites we've used in the past don't show anything at all for the dalles.
we're not really picky, but we have a dog, and laundry machines in unit are a must.
rental houses or apartments either way.
anyone have any idea where we can start?

What a dilemma! Have you tried searching craigslist? Even if you didn't find anything you might find some property management companies that you can call. For instance, I found Cascade Management Inc which seems to manage 3 apartment buildings in the Dalles. No idea if they have vacant units, but you could go from there and call around.
Also, have you tried going there on the weekend to find a location where you'd like to live? You might find signs on the street for vacancies. It sucks to have to go there but you might be able to figure out exactly where you'd like to live that way.
