Best Restaurant in Little Italy?
Can anyone recommend a casual, elegant place (non-pizzeria) to go with a party of 8??
I have been checking reviews all morning, and they are so mixed!!
Thanks!!
Re: Best Restaurant in Little Italy?
La Mela if you are looking for a fun, crazy atmosphere - family style dining, strolling musicians, and lots of LOUD people.
We also like Vincent's when we are looking for something a little more low-key.
IMO the best italian in new york is not in little italy. do you definitely want to be in little italy? angelo's of mulberry is very good but i remember thinking that it was a little overpriced
other excellent italian:
primitivo osteria or crispo (both on 14th street, off 7th ave)
osteria al doge (44th street in the theater district)
my all-time favorite italian is trattoria l'incontro in astoria. some of the absolute best italian i've had outside italy. ?
Agreed that some of the better Italian is off the beaten path, rather than in Little Italy. Trattoria L'Incontro, definitely. Arthur Ave in the Bronx. I have also had some wonderful meals at Gigino Trattoria in TriBeCa.
If you are in Little Italy, however, hit up Ferrara for some treats.
