Water bill (new homeowner)
We're closing this week (hopefully) and I'm just wondering how you get the water bill transferred to your name?
Re: Water bill (new homeowner)
We signed documents at closing for the transfer of water bill from the owner (bank - it was a foreclosure) over to us!
I then called the NYC Water Board to confirm everything and just paid our first bill this week!
Good Luck on your closing!!

That happened to us too!! It was 6 months before we realized something was up! The really dumb part is we didn't even have a water bill in our old apartment - so the city KNEW that we bought a house but still sent the water bill to that house to somewhere we no longer lived . How dumb!
Definitely call and follow up to make sure everything is in order. Thankfully, the fine for a later water bill payment is only like $0.70 or something. :-)
