Baby shower locations - Hartford area

Hello

I am in the beginning phases of planning a baby shower for a friend.  It would need to be in the Hartford area.  I was thinking the max I would spend would be around $20/pp.  About 15-20 guests.  Maybe a nice brunch or lite lunch somewhere.  My apartment just isn't big enough to hold it here.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Baby shower locations - Hartford area

  • Baci Grill in Cromwell is right off the highway exit so it's great for parties. My cousin had her RD there and we also had a post funeral luncheon for my grandfather. They have a very large private room with it's own private bar. The food was pretty good and they do buffet or sit down. Here's the website:?http://www.bacigrill.com/

?Another good place would be First and Last in Middletown, not too far from Hartford. They have a yummy brunch and it's not too pricey. They also have a large private room.??

?I can't think of any other places right now but I will post if I can think of anything else.??

  • What about renting a hall for just a small amount and having it pot luck style? I'm not sure if that's tacky? Or get a few people to help out with the prep work?
  • I thought about renting a space but I am not sure where to look. I am more than happy to cook/bake. Any ideas about halls? I looked at the G-Bury community center and it was crazy expensive!!
  • I don't know the name of it but I know their is one in Newington
  • If you know a Wethersfield resident, you could always rent out the Solomon Welles House.  It's a historic house and you can use their kitchen to prepare your own food.  I've always had good luck with having showers there.
  • The Cromwell Crowne Plaza Hotel is a GREAT place!  I'm having my bridal shower there.  GREAT food...  reasonable prices.  Beautiful rooms!
  • Pond house at Elizabeth Park
  • My bridal shower was held at Mainly Tea in Old Wethersfield - it would make a great baby shower location. http://www.2taste.com/mainlytea/pages/About.html
