New to the Nest

Just wanted to introduce myself.  Just got married May 16th, in Columbia, MO, but we have been living in South KC for a little less then a year, and we just bought our first home in the area, so I'll definitely be looking for home decor inspiration here!  I teach HS vocal music at a tiny little high school about 45 minutes south of the Metro.  I've recently gotten into baking/decorating, I actually just signed up to take Wilton Cake Decorating Classes at the Michaels in Lees Summit (anyone else taken these before?)

Obviously school is out for the summer, which gives me a lot of time to decorate our new house, and Nest of course ;)

Re: New to the Nest

  • Welcome and congrats! I just got married on May 16th as well :)  I normally hang out over at the Military Newlyweds board because my new hubbie is in the Army. We are stationed at Ft. Riley.

I love the nest.....hope you enjoy it :)

  • HI, I got married on May 16th too!!!! fun.  Congrats!  I wish I knew more about this site and could post a better bio w/ pics from my wedding. ha I just haven't taken the time to figure it out.

    Welcome.

  • Aww, you're a newbie like me, and we're both from the Columbia area! ?Fantastic. ?Well, i've only lived here in Columbia for college, but after 3+ years it feels like home. ?I've never been one to leave for summers or any of that nonsense.

I can see it now - you're totally going to be bribing me to bring you?Shakespeares?when i'm apartment hunting in KC next year.?

  • Welcom and Congrats!  I'm a teacher also, so I have a lot of extra time too:)  Where do you teach?  We live in Lee's Summit right now, but just bought a house in KC, so I hear you on the decorating.  When are the cake decorating classes?  That sounds like fun!
