Ft. Worth Recs ...

Hey ladies.

Some friends and I are planning a girls weekend in Ft. Worth next weekend. I think we'll be staying in the downtown area ....

Can you rec any bars, restaurants, lounge/patio areas to visit. We all love to dance, but want to avoid the "21 yr old club scene" (2 of my friends are almost 40 and they don't want to be with a whole bunch of "kids").

Thanks a bunch!

Re: Ft. Worth Recs ...

  • There is a place on Sundance square called Scatz (?) that is pretty laid back.  It's a jazz bar in the basement of one of the buildings.  If I remember right it is sort of across from the Flying Saucer??  Not 100% sure about the location.  I'm 33 and thought it was a fun place without the really young crowd.
  • Scat is the jazz lounge behind Simply Fondue.  You have to walk down a little alley to get there; I haven't been, but have heard good things about it.  Dinner and drinks are so much fun at the roof top bar at Reata - especially for a girls night.  There's a nice patio at Mi Cocina - Mambo Taxis are yummy!  Whiskey & Rye is inside the new Omni downtown and it's really fun - a little younger crowd.

I'm not a big dancer, but I've been to City Streets a few times.  It has 3/+ different themed areas where they play all different kinds of music - a karaoke/piano bar, booty music, 80's/90's rock...the crowd is a good mix of ppl.  Downtown FW is so much fun!  I hope ya'll have a great time!

  • 8.0s and Reata are always good choices.
  • If you want to stay away from the kiddos then go to Scat, is an older crowd. You will find all ages at City Streets, so if you like to dance, go for it! Years ago when I used to go all the time, there was always this older man, like grandpa age, who dressed up and danced like Michael Jackson at the 80's club in City Streets. I will admit, the old guy had some pretty good moves, even grabbed his crotch and everything!

Dinner at Reata in the dome on the roof would be a fun start, I also like Mi Cocina as well, but it is so freakin'  loud in there!
