I know I asked about progesterone before (thanks 2brides and others for your input). Now DW is going to take it for sure. I have the bottle right here. Anyone know about side effects? She said the list is long - just wondering what any of you experienced. Thanks much - we hope this will help our little pea stick in there this time!
Re: Prometrium anyone?
DW (S) used prometrium for many of her IUI cycles.
She had very sore breasts, PG-like symptoms( cravings, queasiness, headaches ) it will mess with your temps if you chart and they can leak. Tell DW to use a panty liner or pad to avoid any messes.
It wasn't anything too awful though and it did keep her P4 nice and high the entire TWW, even better than Crinone.
Good luck!
I was put on Prometrium because I was very late with getting my period and I have PCOS. I was on the pill for a week. Shortly after taking it, I was very tired and felt dizzy (almost felt drunk).
It did its job, I got my period...and a few weeks later I was pregnant. (not intentionally!)
You will forever be my best friend. I can almost feel our hugs. I will ensure everyone will know (now and in the future) what a genuine, kind, loving person you were...I already miss your laughter and our daily conversations. I love you, Samantha. May 20, 1983- February 20, 2012
I'm on it 3x/day this cycle and was on it 2x/day last cycle. I've never had any symptoms at all. It's messy, but with a pad or liner she should be okay.
I think she is talking about Provera, not Prometrium.IUI #3 gave us the best 2nd anniv. gift ever: 2 babies! (born 03/09/10)

If she's taking it orally than discharge shouldn't be a problem. However you may want to double check with your doctor to find out how he wants her to take it. My prometrium says 'oral' on the bottle. However my RE wants me to take it vaginally. He said that all pharmacies will put 'oral' on the bottle because that's how they prefer people take it (it's easier to monitor in the blood stream). REs sometimes prefer vaginal because it gets where it needs to go quicker - but the blood results won't be as accurate. So I'd just say double check with the doc. I did and I'm glad I did.

I didn't have any side effects other than delaying my period starting for the next cycle. Good luck!

Kennedy -
Annie is totally cute! The pic is sorta small but I can tell she's super cute even in that small pic.
Since you obviously had success, can I ask what made you decide to go on prometrium? and do you think it contributed to success?
I know you are busy with your little sweetie, so no big deal, just thought I would ask...thanks!
