I will be in the Chicago area next weekend. I was wondering a few things:
1) What is the weather like?
2) How easy is it to catch a cap from the airport? I have never taken a cap so I'm kind of nervous. I have to go from O'Hara to Oak Park.

Re: Visiting the area
1) Windy. No serious, it looks like mid 70s for the weekend, with some rain possible on Sat. If you are closer to the lake at any point, it will probably be chillier and windy. Weather changes on a dime in Chicago.
2) Cabs are easy to come by. You could also use a towncar service. You can reserve ahead of time or at the terminal. If you cab it, it'll probably run you 30 bucks or so. Not sure I usually take public trans. Speaking of....technically you could hop the Blue Line L from O'Hare to the Harlem stop and then take the Harlem bus straight down to the Harlem/Lake stop. I dont know where you are staying but that's another possibility. HTH.

my read shelf:
1) This time of year, the weather today has little bearing on the weather tomorrow. For instance, yesterday it got up to 80. On Saturday, it dropped down to 51. Just keep an eye on the weather report, and bring plenty of layers.
2) You mean cab, not cap. It's very easy to catch a cab from O'Hare to Oak Park. When you're at the airport, just go down to the cab stand and tell them you need a cab to Oak Park. It should be a flat rate suburban cab, rather than a metered city cab (metered cabs should really only go to the city). Before you get in the cab, ask the driver how much it will be. For the suburbs, they should be able to give you a flat rate.
