Honestly, something that's been working my nerves for the past few months...
When I go to talk to somebody, say MIL for example, I'm not even a quarter of the way through what I'm saying and already whoever I am talking to interrupts me thinking they know what I'm going to say, when in reality they are completely wrong and make me feel like a complete idiot for even talking.
Really?! I swear I'm going to blow up on somebody. I've told DH about it and even asked him if people thought I was dumb or is it because they're not exactly that "intelligent" themselves that they have to make me feel like I am incompetent of basic thinking or speaking.
Gah it's just annoying.
I don't care if somebody is having a hard time understanding what I'm saying, fine, I'll rephrase myself. But why make me feel like an idiot and like you don't want me around by interrupting me to get me to stop talking.
The conversation was not lasting long anyway.
Anybody else have this issues whether it be with friends or in-laws?
Re: Quick vent...
I don't have this issue at all. I'm actually the interrupter
I don't know why I feel like I can guess what people are going to say, but I do. It's not that I don't feel like listening to them. I think I do it to DH more than anyone else. I'm not as bad as I used to be. I don't think I ever really realized I was doing it until he started pointing it out to me.
Yup! Interrupted is my middle name. I'm at the point now where I start talking and then I pause...like I'm just waiting for the interruption. Cuz it never fails. No matter who I am talking to, I get interrupted! I think I've just kind of gotten used to it.
Maybe being the middle child trained me for this.
