Bookcases needed- where do you shop?

I do not like what IKEA has for the prices they charge. Walmart's/Target's/Meijer's are too cheap looking for the price paid. BB&B doesn't have tall bookcases that I've seen.

Sorry to be picky & I know furniture is expensive, but where do you get something a decent tall bookcase for under $200?

Do you know of a good resale shop in the NW suburbs that may have furniture?

Thanks!

Re: Bookcases needed- where do you shop?

  • World Market is another option--especially because the one in Schaumburg is closing and probably has some sales going on.

Some of IKEA's are way overpriced and cheap looking, but I really like the Marcor and Leksvik bookcases.

  • Another option is Overstock.com or a similar site.
  • I know you said no Ikea, but I agree to check out the leksvik.  We have three of the super tall ones and get complements on them all the time.  No one can believe that they are ikea.
