**kennedy**

If you get a chance, I know you are super busy with your little sweetie, I wrote you back under the Prometrium thread with a question.....Thanks for any insight.....

Re: **kennedy**

  • I took the prometrium with both cycles because my progesterone came back low on my 4 day after IUI bloodwork. I also did a second injection of ovidrel on the 4th day ( I had used ovidrel to trigger). I am really not sure which one made a bigger difference. The first cycle we ended up losing the baby anyway ( my progesterone was 4 that cycle) the second time it worked and my P4 was only 7 on day 4 of that cycle.

Don't know if that helps any.

Good luck and lots of sticky baby dust.

  • Thanks Kennedy.  DW is starting prometrium this week - tomorrow or Friday I think.  I am not sure what levels of progesterone are considered high or low.  We are doing insems at home so there will not be an IUI follow up visit, but based on the last 3 tries, we decided to do the prometrium in hopes that it might help.  Thanks again!  we'll take any babydust you can spare!

Most REs like to see a 7dpo P4 (progesterone) level of 10 or greater on a nonmedicated cycle, 15 or greater on a medicated cycle. It's probably a pretty good guideline. My RE doesn't supplement if you are 10, even on a medicated cycle.
There's a helpful chart at the URL below, though I'm not able to get it to load so it might have been moved: http://www.fertilityplus.org/faq/hormonelevels.html#female
