Who has one? Are they worth the cost? Julie's new job is going to require some sort of PDA, and we are looking at this. Is it really worth the extra e-mail charge?
TIA!

Re: BlackBerry
I have one. It was issued to me by my work. I LOVE having it. It is so helpful to not be tied to the computer during the work day (I am in a lot of meetings most days). And it's nice to have portable internet access, too.
Now that I've had one, I don't know if I would want to go back to not having one, though I'd really have to think about it if it were expensive (I am blissfully unaware of how much it would cost to have this set up on my own).
If her job requires her to have one, will they buy it for her?

No! This is the only thing they won't cover.
I have the BB Pearl and I really like it. All of the features are useful and the internet and email come in handy.
My only issue with it is that there are SO MANY glitches. My texts will suddenly be deleted... My phone went crazy a couple times and started pulling up menus and sending blank texts to people ALL NIGHT LONG, then it started calling people on it's own. I had to get a SD card to keep the BB from deleting the texts so often, now it happens just once a month rather than every day. I did have to send my original BB in for a warranty exchange when it went crazy calling and texting people, I've had the new one for 6 months and haven't had the same problem yet.

S has one and she loves it more than me. True story :-)
See if your current cell phone company can offer you an upgrade, it's not too expensive that way. Even if you have to pay full price, it is worth it. That magic gizmo has more than paid for itself in making life easier. A real lifesaver is this house.
Go for it!
DITTO.
now that i've had it, i cant live without it - I can now be in two places at once!
Although i do feel a bit guilty about the added expense (i use mine for work and personal so I pay, but get a discount). Overall, though, its really not all that much more than the regular cell plan we had previously.
I have the curve and its perfect for emailing.
