I think that said person will respond to the email and do what kmap suggested about saying that it's inappropiate to email something like that. I don't think that the BFF needs to know about the email that her brother sent though. She wouldn't be upset at all that she wasn't told about the email.
I doubt that the bro will bring it up since he would be scared that the said person's DH would kick his @ss.
