Hi! We're moving to Orlando from Atlanta in just over a month now, and I wanted to say hello and maybe ask a couple of quick questions.
Can anyone in east Orlando (I'll be working at UCF) recommend a good pediatrician and OB/GYN? Our daughter will be 1 next week and we're talking about #2 at some point next year....gahhh!
How about a good veterinarian?
Thanks; we haven't moved in over 5 years now and I feel like I've completely lost all knowledge of how to do simple things like change the utilities and find doctors! No doubt we'll muddle through but personal recs are worth their weight in gold to me. Looking forward to getting to know you all....
Re: Introducing myself... :)
Welcome!
I don't know of any docs or vets in the East Orlando area, but I am sure some of the ladies here can help you.
This is the office I go to http://www.obandgyn.cc/ It is a group practice. They have an office in Winter Park, Sandlake in Orlando, and Oviedo. I always see Paula Mix. She is a np. They deliver babies at Winnie Palmer. I saw most of the doctors when I was pregnant and they were all great.
This is the pediatrician I use. It is a group practice as well.http://www.pa-orlando.com/
We have seen Gans, Andrew, and Didea. All three have been great. They have two offices one in Orlando.
Welcome! I hope your move goes smoothly.
I don't know of any vets on that side of town, but my OB, Dr. Emma Fritz, has an office in Waterford Lakes. She is part of a small practice of three doctors (which was very important to me) and delivers at Winnie Palmer. She's a wonderful, friendly doctor.
Good luck finding new doctors - I definitely know how challenging that can be!
Welcome to Orlando. I work off Research Parkway which is right next to UCF (where are the technology businesses are).
I take my pets to the Vet in Avalon Park. They have only gone once so far for their annual checkup and shots but I have no complaints.
For pediatrician - I take my (almost 3 yr old) to a general practitioner versus a pediatrician. Its the same Dr who I have seen since I was around the same age. There are pros/cons of this office versus a pediatricians office but for now, I plan to stick w/them. I can give you their information if you are interested.
For OB/GYN - I had my daughter in another state but I see Dr. Moore who is part of http://www.wpobgyn.com/. Again, no complaints, I never wait more then 15 minutes for an appt which I find amazing compared to the OB I saw when I had my daughter where I had an hour wait to see her for every appt.
Hi there! I have some recs for you...
I will second OB & Gyn Specialists. www.obandgyn.cc Like the pp said, they only deliver babies at Winnie Palmer, which is the ONLY hospital I would deliver at. My faves of the docs there are Dr. Bartfield (male) and Dr. Asaria (female). Dr. Durkee (female) is another good one...she delivered my daughter.
I love love love our pediatrician. We see Dr. Van Wert at Interlachen Pediatrics. www.intpeds.com They are open late evening hours and on the weekends. Another great doc there is Dr. Holson.
We take our furry kids to Tuskawilla Oaks Animal Hospital. We see Dr. MacPherson there. She is great! 407-678-8387
Good luck with your move and let us know when you get here. We have been trying to plan more GTGs lately so hopefully you'll get to meet us all soon.
I second this recommendation. I see one of the other NPs, Carolyn Weinstein. She's great and their practice has always been very easy to work with.
As for vets, my pets go to Kirkpatrick Veterinary, which is just south of downtown Orlando. I recommend them, but if you're living near UCF, it would be kind of a long drive, so you may want to find a practice closer to your home. Also, hopefully, you'll never need them, but the internal medicine specialists at Affiliated Veterinary Specialists are great if you ever have to go to a specialist.
Welcome to the area, and good luck with the move!
Well I will say hi even though I kinda already know you:) LOL!!!
I will second Interlachen Pediatrics. We see Dr. Ward and just last week saw Dr. Trout...I like them both.
As far as OB..I go to Partners in Women's Healthcare and have seen all the docs there, but the one I see on a regular basis is Dr. Nancy Brown.
Good luck with the move! Keep me posted when you arrive so we can get together:)
Hi & welcome to Florida!
I can highly recommend a vet!
I took my cat (who passed almost 3 years ago) there and they were so caring and componsatinate! When we adopted our dog last year I did not heisitate to bring her anywhere else! I go to the Animal Hospital at Vista Lakes. Our main doctor is Dr. Kenya Howze--we absolutely love her!!! We have also scene Dr. Jen Rauleson and Dr. Kristin Mariash both were very attentive! I like the fact that they are an animal hospital because if you have an emergency they are there for you!
Here is there website:

What will you be doing at UCF?
Good luck & Happy move!
