Help, need an event space - my post for SDgirl
I'm co-chairing the children's resale event for our local multiples group, and we need a new event space. Our fall resale runs for one weekend in September. Ideally, the space would be at least 8000 sq. ft., near downtown (maybe SE), have parking, and be one story for ease of stroller use. We're a non-profit, and we do have some money to pay for space - just not the $12/sq. ft. some places charge.
Does anyone have ideas? We've found that public school rental rates are really high and churches can't rent to us because they'd jeopardize their non-profit status.

Thanks enail!
I obviously don't since I don't live there yet, but there was a poll wedding post a while back and I know there were a few people who listed their wedding venues? Maybe somewhere to start?
Learning to start all over again... Blog
Hi! The Milwaukie Grange (on River Road), and the Milwaukie Masons Center(on Harrison & 24th ish) are two that spring to mind...
Can singletons buy strollers and such at your event, or do you have to buy 2 high chairs together?
Edit: Just re-read that you need 8000 sq ft, so I'm not sure if either of those is big enough... sorry.
All are welcome at the multiples sale. A lot of the multiples parents also have singletons (eek!), so there are single strollers, and most people don't sell their items in sets.
I'll check out those ideas. There are so many unleased buildings in the city right now, and I think as we get closer to September we'll have an easier time finding a location. It's just scary to be in limbo.
