How much to charge for tutoring???

Hoping to help out a friend with an answer to her question - what's the going rate for middle school math tutor's in this area? I know that, in NJ, I used to get paid $30-$35 an hour to tutor, but don't know what the rate is for down here.

 Thank you!!!

Re: How much to charge for tutoring???

  • When I was in high school, I was a peer tutor & was paid $25 an hour. ?I would imagine that the rates for a regular tutor would be higher. ?I think it can range anywhere from $25 to $50 an hour depending on your education level. ?You could always check around with local tutoring places like Sylvan to get rates.
  • awesome - thank you!

  • I get paid between $20 and $30 an hour working with elem age children (but I also work with low income families).
  • I stoped tutoring a year or two ago . . . but I was making $40 for elem grade level. (sometimes they gave me $50) The going rate starts at $35, but most teachers I know charge $40.
