IHO making it a full year....
What did you do on your first anniversary?
We are going to spend a week in the Outer banks. H has something planned for actual anniversary. He was running plans by me but I kindly asked him to stop and surprise me.
I'm pretty excited!
And since we don't want to take it with us, we're going to eat our frozen cake with our usual Friday beer and pizza tonight.
Re: IHO making it a full year....
It was so long ago- we went to dinner at Dali (in the Boston area) and tried eating our thawed out cake, but it wasn't good![:( :(](https://thenest.vanillacommunities.com/resources/emoji/frowning.png)
I was REALLY sick with the flu on our first anniversary. It was a few months after we'd moved to greenville and were in this crummy little apartment. Our vacuum had died so we decided to buy a new sweeper as a mutal gift (romantic huh?)
I was sick in bed all day, and then DH picked up the cake I had comissioned. It was supposed to be an exact replica of our wedding cake. I'll put some pictures below. It was so bad we laughed till we cried.
DH also went out and got some food. We had take out from Fatz. He was on his own and he picked it himself.
I ate and had a bite of cake and went back to bed. SOOO sick.

We've got 2 months until our first anniversary (ack, its hard to believe its been a year...then again it feels sometimes like its been 40!)
We don't have any huge plans. I'm probably not going to want to do anything. The week before my anniversary I've got to take a weeklong course on treating sexual dysfunction. I'll be in class from 9am-5pm Monday through Friday. That weekend, sadly I'll probably be too zapped for a real celebration.
We've discussed doing something special for ourselves on Saturday night before our anniversary at our dancin barn (like bringing a cake and sharing it). We've also talked about attending church on Sunday at the church we were married at then having a nice lunch downtown (we had our reception at the Hyatt in Greenville).
Staxx Bakery.
Ugh...I hate that place. Their cakes taste pretty good (my bridal shower cake came from there), but when I called to ask for information for my wedding the woman on the phone sounded like she could care less whether or not I got my cake from her. Her tone seemed to say, "I'm the best, I know I'm the best, so I don't need to spend time answering your stupid questions, you'll take me as your vendor based on reputation alone, and if not you can go elsewhere."
I have honestly never been treated so rudely in my life. Later I heard that there is one lady there who is really rude, but 90% of the staff is sweet. Seriously though, why have the one b****?!?
The weekend before that (memorial weekend '08) we were at Oak Island NC w/ my parents and one of my best girlfriends Kelly and her boyfriend (now her fiance) Chris.
Chris had been planning on proposing for a while and he finally decided he was going to do it @ the beach @ sunset-cliche I know, but the photos turned out great. Kelly knew they'd picked out a ring but had no idea he had it, let alone that he had it with him @ the beach-it was too cute!!
So that was our weekend prior to our anniversary-OKI relaxing-it's the best beach-outside of St. Augustine FL-that I've ever spent time at.
The beach trip was our anniversary present to each other-and we can't wait to go back again!!! :-)
On our first anniversary we ate at the place where we had the rehersal dinner. We drove up and realized the name of the restuarant had change and even the cuisine. It was the same owners and they remembered us so they sent us drinks and dessert to go with our meal. Very sweet of them.
