Since my armpit of SC post has taken a turn in the direction of BBQ, and in honor of the 95 degree weather we're having, I have to ask...what is your favorite BBQ joint in SC?
I haven't had it in Columbia because I'm not a fan of the mustard-based sauces that the Midlands prefers, but my favorite place ever is Henry's Smokehouse on Wade Hampton in Greenville. I always make a Henry's run when I go to visit my family.
Re: S/O Best BBQ in SC
I've never been to Henry's.... we'll definitely have to check it out.
I'm a fan of Toms BBQ on Woodruff Rd. I haven't had pork BBQ in about 10 years (yikes!) but I love their smoked chicken.
Oh! I remembered. My favorite is Ed Bourdreaux in Asheville. It's fantastic.
My favorite kind of BBQ is mustard-based, so I really like Maurice's in Columbia (even if I think his Confederate views are extreme).
My other favorites are:
Carolina BBQ (I grew up eating BBQ from there) and Duke's BBQ in Aiken
Smoke on the Water in Greenville
Cain's in Florence
I'll have to try Henry's!

I'm going to agree that Henry's can't be beat. The only thing I like more than their BBQ is their fries.
However, I like Smoke on the Water for variety. I went there with my parents and my cousin on Tuesday, everyone else was in the mood for BBQ, but I wanted Tuna...so I got Tuna.
Sadly, more often than not I get BBQ from Charlies BBQ at the corner of Hwy 14 and Pelham in Greenville. My husband works next door and his best friend's uncle is a part owner of the place, so we're able to get whatever we want for free (I've had them for lunch and dinner before, just b/c its free).
I've not been to Henry's but we'll have to try it.
But I LOVE Smoke on the Water. I've never had anything there that wasn't totally delicious.
Smoke on the Water is on Main St. in Greenville before it turns into Augusta Road, aka The West End.
Not sure about the Low Country. They might have a Lil Pigs down there (also incredibly good).
I live near Mount Plesant, and I love Moose's barbecue, but its in Moncks Corner. Home Team Barbecue in West Ashley is to die for.
