charleston bachelorette party recs?

i am planning a bachelorette party for charleston in late september, but i've never been there before!  after doing some research, i think we'd like to stay downtown where we can walk to most things.  it will be a group of girls in our late 20s (from the DC area) who love wine, the beach, and shopping.  i could really use some help finding a moderately priced hotel ($200/night) in the downtown/market street area.  if you have any other must-see/things to do or restaurant suggestions, i would be forever grateful!  thanks!

Re: charleston bachelorette party recs?

  • Try the Francis Marion hotel.  Charleston has a lot of amazing restaurants thanks to all of the Johnson & Wales alumni who stayed and you shouldn't have any problems with good food.

Some of my favorites in the downtown area:

The rooftop bar (it's on top of a hotel but I can't remember which...hoping that someone else knows)

    High Cotton

    Magnolia's

    Bocci's

    Cypress

S.N.O.B. (haven't been but my ILs love it)

All good suggestions. You could also do Social, which is a wine bar. Raval is tapas and a wine bar as well, but that won't be a good spot for the whole night.

We liked the atmosphere at Cypress and they had a great selection.

  • thank you SO much!
  • I have some recs in my bio. Have fun! :)
  • I just got married- we had my bachelorette party downtown. The Charleston Place Hotel is a great place to stay. We went to Market Street Saloon and Tommy Condons and had a great time. Upper King is nice, too.
