Visiting - Which area to stay at?

Hi Ladies,

I just posted this on the Travel chatboard, but figured that I would also post here where the Chicago experts are.

?I've never been to Chicago before. DH and I are planning a vacation there for end of May/early June. Which is the best area to stay in??

Magnificent Mile - Streeterville

North Michigan Avenue - Water Tower - Gold Coast

The Loop

?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Re: Visiting - Which area to stay at?

  • for your first visit...

I'd stay Mag Mile/Streeterville.   North Michigan Ave/Water Tower *IS* the Mag Mile... so I'm not sure what the technical difference is between your first two options.  So either of those should be fine.

The Loop tends to be very quiet on the weekends and while it is a close walk to everything, it can feel more isolating and there is less open directly around the hotels there.   Loop hotels are mostly for business folks during the week.
