anyone use ZipCars/iGo?

we are considering getting rid of our car.

Anyone use one of these car-share programs? Do you like it? are the cars readily available when you want them?? anyone use it with a child?

We don't have a car but use ZipCar.  I love it!  We live in Lakeview and there are tons of cars in the area.  When we lived in Wicker Park there was less inventory nearby, but still enough.  I believe you can check online to see what is available in your neighborhood.  I've never had a problem getting a car within a couple blocks and the rates are fair (our favorite car is about $8/hr).  I think it would be fine with a baby, you'd just have to plan on the inconvenience of carrying a car seat to and from the parking spot.

i've used igo and love it. what i personally like about igo over zipcar is that they are a non-profit. i've never had any problems with availabity, and the cars are really nice (like brand new) and in very convienent locations. I wouldn't think that having a child would make the experience any different.
