window tinting for the house
DH and I wanted to put tinting on the windows of the house to reduce the a/c bill and make the house a little cooler. We could've sworn that Home Depot or Lowe's did installation, but they don't (we even bought the film and tried to do it ourselves, but that didn't work very well!). Do any of you have recommendations for companies/individuals that provide window tinting for the house at a reasonable price? Thanks so much!!

I don't have an installer to recommend, but I did want to suggest that you contact your electric utility and find out if they offer any rebates or other incentives for window tinting. A lot of utilities right now are offering rebates for various types of energy-saving home improvements.
Sometimes the rebates can be as much as $100+ so it's worth a phone call or a check of their Web site for sure.

We're planning to do film on all of our windows as well. The heat that comes in through our largest glass sliding door is INSANE! Faces East of course:(

I think so but I can't remember. I'm guessing in this economy anyone would be doing free estimates....I could ask my mom if you want?
