HSV area ladies with privacy fences

We need to get a privacy fence built and I was wondering if you ladies could recommend anyone. We are on a budget, but we want them to do a good job.

  • wish i could help. we had ours put up when we built our house.
  • I'm not HSV, but we built ours ourselves :-) Saved $1800 that way and got it just the way we wanted it!

Yeah, well we originally planned on doing it ourselve, but quickly realized that we had no idea how to do it correctly.

Yeah, it's definitely srs bsns. FIL and DH did most of the work, with FIL telling DH what to do where, etc. It's not very difficult, but there is a definite technique to it Geeked I think the hardest part is sinking the posts in the yard. You have to dig the holes with an auger (DH rented a one-man and ened up with a cracked rib!), then stand up the posts with a level on it to make sure it's standing completely straight. Then one person holds the post while the other pours the quickset concrete in there. We had to do that whole process x 39 for our little bitty 40 x 100 lot Ick!

  • the 2 I would recommend are Creative Containments or TennesseeValley Fence. They both do great work. Creative Containments is great call and ask for Patrick.

  • What kind are you looking at, Leah?

Just a regular dog-earred wooden fence with one walk through gate.

  • Ah, I see.  Creative Containment did Rick's folks.  We would have had them do ours, but we did not have that kind of budget.  I also highly recommend yellow wood.  You get it in Decatur and it's not supposed to rot.
