  • We will have to get the Columbia Nesties together and car pool to the next Greenville GTG.  Sounds like you girls had fun.  I'm jealous.
  • I had a great time- those desserts were sooo good!!
I'm just glad I finally know a few more ladies around here, and that we can catch up whenever!!!

Maybe we ought to try for sometime in mid-to-late June....let's think about that, since we have a while.

Thanks for the wonderful evening ladies!!!
    Big Smile

June sounds great to me- as long as it doesn't interfere with my monthly  Bunko night.  I think this June's Bunko is June 13th.  Unless the host changes it.  We get together the 2nd Friday of the month.

  • 1. What is Bunko?

    2. I am probably going to be hard to schedule around in June.  We have a couple weddings we'll be out of town for in June and I'll be gone for a business trip for a few days.  I'll be gone june 9-10, 13-15, 20-22.

It IS possible that I'll be gone from the 13th-22 instead of coming back to Greenville during that week... sorry I have a busy month, but if I miss this next one I'll definitely make it to the following one!

    1. What is Bunko?

Hey Vanessa.   To answer your question; Bunko is a dice game that you play with 12 people.  It's really hard to explain on a msg board-but here it goes.   It's 3 tables of 4 (you HAVE to have 12 people).  There is a head table (that signifies the beginning and ending of a round), a middle table and the loser table.  Each table has 3 dice and each person has a score sheet.  The head table has a bell.  You play with partners- so the person across the table from you is your partner.  Okay so the first round you a rolling for ones.   You roll the dice and you keep track of all the ones you and your partner roll.  If you don't roll any ones when it's your turn, then you pass the dice to the next person.   If you roll 3 ones at once (you know-one dot on each dice) during the one's round you get a Bunko and that;s worth 21 points for you and 5 points for your partner.  The first person at the head table to get 21, hits the bell and that's the end of the round.

The league I play with meets once a month and the only "rule" we have is: You need to agree to host it at least once a year (12 girls=12 months).  It is a lot of fun and there is a chance to win prizes (nice prizes, not cheap dollar store prizes).  The cost is just $5 a month.

If it sounds like fun to you, maybe if we need a fill in you (and anyone else who is interested) are more than welcome.  We get a few fill ins that have never played-it takes 5 minutes to explain and it's so easy and fun!

    Wow that was long!

  • Oh wow that actually sounds kinda fun!  So then you rotate tables and partners? How many rounds do you play?

Anyway I'd love to be a fill-in anytime you need someone!  Is this a game that is popular in a certain region etc?  it sorta-kinda sounds like Yahtzee... not REALLY REALLY but kinda sorta. :)

Yup you do rotate tables and partners.  We play 2 rounds.   Round 1 is rolling ones thru sixes and then we break for dessert (host provides food and drinks). Round 2 after dessert is also ones thru sixes.

When I explained the game to DH, he said "uh that's Yahtzee almost".

My sister is hosting in July, so I will keep you in mind if she needs a fill in and any other time as well. Plus it will look like I have friends of my own. Big Smile  I'm not sure where the game is so popular.  I've never heard of it til my sister asked me to join her league
