Atlanta Nestie Visiting Charleston

Hello Ladies. I am in Charleston all this week with my husband and 15 year old son. We are going to the beach but that is all we have planned. Any suggestions on fun things to do and see? We are staying in a house that is downtown near the college. TIA :)

Re: Atlanta Nestie Visiting Charleston

  • We did a lot of walking around, did the Ft. Sumter tour, USS Yorktown tour...we also saw Ryan's Mart, the Old Slave Museum which was cool, and the Aiken House tour.

East Bay Street mansions, Rainbow Row, and the market on Market Street is fun! Everyone is really friendly in there.

  • Pick up a free City Paper and see what's happening, I don't have one, but they come out on Tuesday look from them at any bar you pass. They will be right inside the door.

  • I am visiting Charleston this week too. This is what we have done so far SC Aquarium, USS Yorktown, Fort Sumter, The Old Exchange and Provost Dungeon, The Market Place. We will be doing a Ghost tour tomorrow night. My Husband is down here for a conference so we will try to fit as many things as his schedule will allow before we head back on Saturday. Have you done anything I have not suggested that would be fun?

This is just my personal preference, but the Old Slave Mart was very interesting. It's very historical and when you are in there, you can almost get a sense of what went on there. Very eerie, but spiritual as well.
