A little help please

It's been a LONG time since DW and I had a date.  I am clueless when it comes to planning this sort of thing.

Last time we had a date night at home (it was a complete surprise for me), DW made filet mignon with mushroom and cream sauce, seasoned mashed potatoes and some other veggie.  She set 2 places at the table, had candles lit, and bought me a dozen red roses.  She rented a movie and we cuddled on the couch after dinner.

Now I want to surprise her with a date night at home/affordable night out but I don't know what to do.  She doesn't care to sit and watch movies, she has ADHD and can't focus for that long unless it's an action movie.

Let me list a few of her likes and maybe you can help me come up with something...

Likes:
MMA/UFC/WEC
Video games
Cooking
Riding quads

I also want to cook for her but since she does 99% of the cooking in the house, I have a hard time cooking for her.

She is allergic to garlic (MAJOR!!), cinnamon (major), ginger (not sure how bad), shrimp (minor), jalapenos (minor).  She grew up on homemade delicious Mexican food but I want to make something different, plus I don't know how to make authentic Mexican food.  She likes just about any type of food, especially Chinese.

Anyone want to suggest a menu, dinner and dessert, or an acitivity?

  • Does she like sushi?  I think sushi is sexy :-)  You could have your own little sushi making party.  It's super easy to make, and once you have all the ingredients prepped you can have fun creating various rolls.  Then because it's an asian theme, you could rent some old b-flick kung foo movies, or get an old school video game like street fighter.

  • Ooooh!  I LOVE that idea!  Thanks so much Two!!! Big Smile
  • For dessert you can make green tea ice-cream if she likes that sort of thing.  There are many recipes out there, but a very simple one is to mix vanilla ice-cream and green tea powder and then re-freeze.
