Cost to build a new home

Anyone have any idea on how much it costs to build a new home?  ...any square footage.  I realize it varies a LOT but I'm trying to get a general idea.  TIA!

Re: Cost to build a new home

  • I called my city and they gave me the # of $150 per sq foot...this would be for moderate finishes, etc.  this does not include the land.
  • wow...so for a 1200 sq foot home, approx $180,000?  That includes the plumming and basic fixures, etc right?  It's a little better than I expected.
  • that's what i was told...

i would say that it isn't the construction costs that you really need to worry about - it's the land purchase. ?depending on where you buy the lot, this could end up costing a shitton of cash.?

    this.

  • thanks guys...I'm actually looking for my current land...for my home to be knocked down and rebuilt from scratch.  I realize there will be added costs of demolition too.
