Visiting Nashua - any recs?

Hi ladies!

I'm surprising H with a trip to Nashua for his birthday in July (we're going to go to the indoor skydiving place - he's going to love it).  Anyway, we'll be there for 3 days.  Can you recommend some attractions and/or restaurants we MUST check out?

I appreciate it!

TIA!

  • Hmmm.....  Martha's Exchange is good... LoL

I dont really like Nashua all that much though. Was not enough for me to do there.  You might want to venture into the Manchester area?  I only lived in Nashua for 2 years though, so I am sure that some of the other girls on this board might have more suggestions for you!

  • I'm definitely willing to entertain other things outside of the Nashua area.

    Thanks!

  • San Francisco Kitchen is a great restaurant on Main Street in Nashua- fun atmosphere, etc. It's "chinese-ish"- not sure technically what it is. have fun!
  • Villa Banca is good for Italian.  On a nice day you can eat on the patio over the river at Peddler's Daughter (both on Main St).

I believe the Fisher Cat's (AA Baseball) are playing this weekend in Manchester - such a nice fun atmosphere inexpensive tickets.

  • I actually bought my dad a gift certificate there a few years back and he loved it.  My whole family went to watch them.

I think Nashua has a cute downtown and there are a few great restaurants. I am sure you could find all of their websites online if you search for them.

    Unums- pricey but delicious food

    Villa Banca- Italian, great meal

Michael Timothy's- upscale but one of the nicer restaurants in Nashua

Surf- same owner as Michael Timothy's but it focuses on seafood

Seedlings Cafe- my favorite lunch place- organic wraps

There isn't a ton to actually do in Nashua except eating and shopping (tax free).  However, within a reasonable drive you can do some hiking or go to the coast.

Is there anything in particular you were looking to do?

  • I most definitely agree with the recs for Villa Banca and Michael Timothys.  Nashua doesn't have a whole lot going on but if you headed to Manch for a baseball game you could check out a few bars that night. There is a place to do some indoor rock climbing in Manchester and a great art gallery.

If you two are the adventure/outdoorsy type and you have the time there is some ziplining thru Alpine Adventure in Plymouth NH(a few hrs away) and this area has a lot to offer for hiking and beautiful views.  The ziplining is really fun!

Canobie Lake Park isn't too far away.  There's always coupons at McDonald's.  If you're up for a little walk, there's the Nashua Rail Trail (google it).  Daniel Webster Highway has lots of chain restaurants, a mall (unfortunately with lots of empty stores) and a movie theater (Go see UP-so good-bring kleenex).  Near the mall is a mini-golf place that looks pretty fun.
