Shower locations in San Diego??

I saw some suggestions earlier for baby shower locations in Escondido and tea room recs... How about suggestions for baby shower locations in the rest of San Diego?

I'm looking for a brunch or lunch place that can accomodate about 20 people for $20 or less a person, but I'll take any recommendations you'd like to give! Originally we were thinking about just bbq'ing at mission bay or something, but I would be worried about the weather with me being 8+ months pregnant since it will be at the end of June or early July!

 Any ideas?

 Thanks!

  • I found that Karl Staruss has some really good deals.  We held an after party there (for our friends) and had the whole patio (the Karl Strauss in La Jolla).  They have different packages available for food.  If you did it during the day (and w/o alcohol), you could probably do it for just about $20 pp.

  • Another idea - - Do you have any friends that live in a place with a clubhouse?  That's where I held my friend's baby shower (she lives in Rancho Bernardo & has a clubhouse in the complex).

  • Our original plan was for the clubhouse at my aunts apt complex, but both weekend that she could do it, the clubhouse was not available! I've done it for other friends though and it worked out great... too bad for me!
  • I hosted my sisters shower at Pizza Nova (which isn't like a normal Pizza place) in Point Loma. It's an adorable place, and they have a private room upstairs with a great patio that is right on the harbor! Might be more along $25-30 a head, but awesome food (pizza, salads, pastas, etc.) and great service!

  • I threw a baby shower at Dave & Busters and was super impressed!!!  It ended up being way cheaper than other places I looked at and the staff and event planner were super helpful!!!  And everyone who attended it had a great time!!!  It is especially a good place for a coed shower, but good for just a girls shower as well!!!  I would definitely recommend having any kind of event there!
