In honor of National Barefoot Week, created by
Soles4Souls, I'd like to organize a shoe drive/Walking GTG sometime in June. I heard something on the radio which inspired me to decide to clean out my shoe closet and I'm wondering if any of you would like to do the same? Here's the motivation:
"A sad fact is that there are 300 million children in the world who have never
owned a pair of shoes, while the same number of shoes were tossed into
American landfills last year," he said. "We want to give people a reason to
clean out their closets and help needy people while reducing the strain on our landfills at the same time," (CEO of Soles4Souls)
I thought we could all meet at the rails to trails trail in Cheshire and I could collect everyone's "gently worn" shoes and then we could all go for a walk together. And if everyone could bring like $5 to help me with shipping that would be great too.
National Barefoot Week is the first week in June, but I'd like to see what day works best for everyone, so here are some choices: Sat. June 7th or Sun. June 8th, or Sat. June 14th or Sun. June 15th. Please post here to Let me know if you're interested and if any of those dates work for you!
Also, if you don't have any shoes to give, but want to just come along for the walk that would also be great! And if there's anyone who wants to help me organize and pack stuff up I could definitely use the help.

Let's meet in the Northern-most parking lot, on Cornwall Ave. There is parking on either side of the road where the trail is. I'll have a white truck and DH and Ella will be with me.
Bring your shoes plus $5 for shipping and also bring your babies/kids, dogs, DHs, whatever!
Please PM me to confirm if you're coming, that way we know if we have everyone when we start walking.
Looking forward to our walk ladies!
