We've had Tmobile individually and shared forever and are looking into something else. Tmobile seems to have too many dead spots when out of the large city. We're thinking of going with AT&T or Verizon, but I'm more worried about the phones. I want a phone that is similar to the iphone with the touch screen... I want a great video and camera quality as my phone is usually the first thing I can find when Cam does something cute/funny. The iphone is just a bit too much for me. I don't need all those extra apps nor do I really want the capability of having them. I'm not that into electronics and I don't think I'd ever use any of that. Can you think of a phone that is a good quality phone, but has the things I want in it? I've already been to their websites, but it's so hard to tell which phones are good and which would probably crap out on me after 3 months.
Re: Best cell phone that is not an iphone?
If you do stay with TMobile, I have the Samsung Behold. I really love it. I too didnt want all the extra web stuff that the Iphone has, but wanted a touch screen with a full keyboard on it...I basically use it as a phone, text, and sometimes use the camera. The camera on it is really great, as is the video. I just really like the touch screen, and everything about it. You can get the web access of course, but I dont have it-dont need it. It looks alot like the iphone too. Super easy to navigate as well. I think it sounds like what you are describing you want, but it is Tmobile. Ive had them for years and I really like them. So long, that when I signed a new contract, I have unlimited minutes now for the price of the last plan I had ($50). Can't beat that with any other carrier, so I stayed.
I will say this phone, like the iphone needs a cover...I have the rubber one (and have also used the clear plastic one). If I were to drop it without a cover I think it would be damaged, however I have dropped it a few times with the cover and its fine.
Hmm.. the Samsung behold looks nice online, but $320? man, that's more than the iphone! If we stay with tmobile, I definitely need to wait for my contract to run out before trying to get that phone lol
I saw the Palm centro, but I like the phones that have the touch texting on the screen. It looked the centro had a full keyboard.
What to do... what to do... blah.
Thanks Robin!
Yeah, he's gi-normous these days haha, though he just had his 18 month appointment and he weighs 26lbs and is 32in tall, which is average for his age... he just seems huge to me I guess. He says a lot of words now and tries to immitate a lot of things we say. Such a blast to have him at this age
I think I paid $150 for my Behold since I signed a new contract....also they let me pay it out in 3 installments that are tacked on to my monthly bill. That was handy as well.
But I wouldnt pay $320 for any cell phone...so unless you cange tit cheaper with a contract, I agree its too much. This was the first time I never just accepted whatever phone I could get free at signing.
I have the blackberry storm, I really like mine but DH has had problems with his. I just have my phone hooked up to my personal email account because I can't view it at work. His is hooked to his work email so he is getting 100+ emails a day.
The camera is not great. It's only 3.2 megapixel. But I put a ton of music on my phone and an audio book, it's pretty much taken the place of my ipod.
We have Verizon. Everyone at DH's office has an iphone but none of them get reception at the office. That was the main reason we didn't switch servicers to get the iphone.

Oh yeah, I was really close to getting the Samsung Omnia. It has a 5 megapixel camera.
Now I'm just waiting for the Prada phone to come to America!
