i know you could at yankee stadium but i don't want to bother bringing bottled water and snacks if it's not allowed.

yes you can. You can bring a soft cooler, pretty much any food you want, just no alcoholic beverages or glass containers.

oh wait... just found this:

Prohibited Items: Items larger than 16"x16"x8", coolers (hard-sided), cans, glass bottles, beverage containers, open containers, commercial audio/video equipment, alcoholic beverages, illegal substances, laser pointers, noisemaking devices, fireworks, animals (except for assistive purposes), weapons, food items and the like. 

 I know we brought our own big bag of peanuts. the people in front us brought Subway, a container of watermelon, and some other stuff.

 

ETA: Also, if you get food there El Verano Taquer?a was only eh.  There's a Shake Shack (line much longer than in the city), and a few other places behind Left Field.  Behind Right Field theres a small place where you can different sandwiches and sushi and stuff.

ok, i'll bring some bottled water and small snacks. if they make me chuck them, i won't be too upset.?

also, we're in club acela seats (free for me though - woo hoo!) so maybe we'll just order overpriced food there . . . ?

thanks again for the advice! i brought water and snacks, grabbed a grilled chicken sandwich and a beer. skipped to long lines at the shake shack, etc... really good night for baseball and we were practically on the field!!
