Weekend Plans?

What are you doing this weekend?  Anything fun??

Re: Weekend Plans?

  • Tonight we might go out to dinner or run to Costco. Or if we are feeling really lazy stay home and take the kids to the playground (although I bet they have been there all day!)

Tomorrow I am taking them to a kids' concert while L does school work. After their nap we are taking them to paint tiles for their mirrors (we have mirrors that have tiles around them and every mother's day we let them paint a tile - we are really late this year!) and then get dinner and hang out for the summer concert series

Sunday I am am sure we'll be cleaning, going grocery shopping, playing with kids, grilling out for dinner, and gearing up for another week. :)

  • We are mostly just taking it easy this weekend. I anticipate a lot of movie watching. Smile

The only thing I'm really planning to do is have some "training sessions" with Daisy. When I was home with her that first week I taught her sit, crate, outside... which she learned quickly and easily. And while we use lots of terms with her, and she's picked up on most of them, we never really taught them to her as something she must do. She views them more as suggestions, which gets frustrating. So this weekend we are going to conquer down and come. After those I'll work up to more fun things... but down and come are musts. Especially before Cape Cod!

  • Tonight DW is DJing for her friends birthday party so I am staying home with DD and baking, having pizza and watching movies.

Saturday I plan to bake most of the day and probably take DD swimming.

Sunday DD and I are going to my dads house to celebrate Fathers Day/Dads birthday while DW goes to her parents house.

  • pride!!! it's an all-weekend affair here. i'm not sure exactly what our plans are, although i believe we'll be going downtown for a bit tonight--possibly to the big concert they have, possibly just to check out the festivities. tomorrow we'll watch the parade and possibly march (although i'm doubtful), then check out all the vendors and a few of the performers. i think some friends of ours are having a pride weekend gtg at their house on sunday, so we'll probably go over there and spend some time hanging out in their pool in the afternoon.

we're going out to breakfast with my parents on sunday for father's day, and they'll be at pride on saturday too.

  • Tonight we're thinking about going to a Japenese steakhouse. Tomorrow we're driving to Ocala for one of J's former co-worker's wedding, it's an outdoor wedding so I'm just hoping it won't be to humid, hot and sticky ugh. Sunday will probably be spent cleaning.

  • This week has been so busy we haven't even talked about weekend plans yet!

Tonight we're both working late. Tomorrow we have a party to go to that's being hosted by a couple we haven't seen in a while, which should be fun. Sunday? Who knows. Maybe we'll finally put the tree in the attic.  :)

  • I worked late and Jen took Lucky for a walk and made dinner (yay! usually that's my job). Now I'm starting on our weekend project while Jen reads in bed. Tomorrow I'm sleeping in for the first time in three weeks (I know, people with kids don't feel sorry for me ;)) and then we're going to Ballet Workout at 11a and we have our long run for the week (6 miles) after that. Then some project work, then tomorrow night we're meeting friends for dinner at California Pizza Kitchen and seeing The Hangover. Sunday we're going biking at Rock Creek Park with our friend Mollie, and planning wine/risotto/relaxation for Sunday night since Jen will be traveling for work for the next couple of weeks.

Our weekend project is major cleaning, but also getting rid of a considerable amount of stuff and rearranging our furniture. We're putting my big law school desk in the (unfinished) basement and moving Jen's nice, smaller desk from the bedroom to the office. Then we're moving the small bookshelves from the office into the bedroom. So both rooms will end up feeling more spacious and cozy. Eventually we're going to get rid of our treadmill (currently in the office) and replace it with a cozy reading chair. We don't use the treadmill much now that we belong to a gym we both love and since we bought it used, it doesn't seem worth paying someone to move it into the basement just to pay someone to move it back out and then haul it across the country when we move. (It's VERY heavy and large and the stairs to the basement are such that we'd have to have it lowered down there on ropes, like a piano.) It makes more sense to sell it and eventually buy another used one or a new one when we have a place of our own.
