Any luck selling houses in Indiana?
We're talking about putting our house on the market very soon. But, I'm worried about buyers in the area. Has anyone had any luck selling their house on the east side of Indiana (we're between Muncie & New Castle) any insite would be nice. TIA
Oh, and
DH's brother would be our selling agent, has anyone had any problems with family members being your official agent? I'm not 100% keen on the idea.
Thank Ladies!

Re: Any luck selling houses in Indiana?
I think the housing market is starting to turn around as far as home sells, but I am not sure if people are getting what they want out of them.
They are currently building 5 homes in our neighborhood after not building 1 last year. I read that home sales were way up in May. I think the stimulus is helping. People aren't afraid to low ball though.
Is he a good agent? If so, it shouldn't matter if he is related or not. If he isn't very aggressive and work a lot then I would use someone else. Our realtor basically works everyday of the week, because right now you have to.
If doesn't hurt to put it on the market and see what happens.
Oh, he's aggressive! But, he doesn't normally work in our area.
I don't think we would sell our house unless we get what we put in and come out somewhat ahead. It's not a die or need to sell, more a want to move back to the southside of indy. Truethfully, I don't want to sell my house, I just want to pick it up and move it to the southside
I my house!!lol!
If you just want to test then I would say go for it. We had a friend just put their up to see what happened and someone offered more than the asking price less than 2 weeks on the market.
I would be caution with mixing friendships/family relationships with business. If something goes wrong, the situation becomes extra sticky. Even if it seems unlucky, I wouldn't personally consider it to be worth the risk.
I agree that the market may be turning around. You can always try and see. A new builder is coming to our community and is going to start building homes again sometime this year.
