Sick of Orlando Questions yet?

Hi all,

First time visitor to your board, I usually hang out on Money Matters and Pets.

I'm off to a work conference to Orlando in November - fly in Tuesday, work Wednesday, Thursday, Friday morning, but the rest of the weekend is free if we want to stay. Staying at the Embassy Suites in Buena Vista for work, but would consider changing for Friday and Saturday night if it's recommended.

We're into good beer and authentic ethnic food. We are not planning on having a rental car, prefering to rely on taxis but would consider it if told it was necessary.

Any suggestions for some yummy & reasonable ethnic food (mexican, japanese, korean, philippino, cuban etc) and / or a great beer bar / brew pub? Or are we doomed to chain restaurants?

TIA!

Re: Sick of Orlando Questions yet?

  • Wish I could help, but I don't know much about Orlando. You might want to check out the Central Florida board for locals, although some of the girls here have probably visited enough for some recommendations as well.
  • I wish I could help, too, but I don't know any restaurant recs in the area. I would try and stay away from the taxi plan if possible, Orlando has horrible traffic as I recall so it might be best to come and go as you please, but that's just my experience. I have stayed at the Embassy Suites though and it is very nice :)
