Yay, we got a contract on our house

Yippie!  We have a "contract" in on a house we want.  I felt it necessary to use the quotes because it's a forclosure and I know whether we're able to get it or not, it's going to be a total PITA.  Don't know why the house we want to buy has to be so difficult.  Wish us luck.  We MAJORLY lowballed based on the taxes (LONG story, but it's an extra $30k in "taxes" over the next 16 years plus the normal taxes), we're sure if they don't reject the contract they'll counter, we won't go much higher though.  Also wish us luck that everything goes well with selling our house.

  • Thanks.  Had the termite inspection yesterday and just finished the building inspection.  Can't wait to hear what the potential buyers thought of the inspection (what they want/need fixed).
  • That is so cool.  My husband and I were also interested in a foreclosure or short sale that had a NID or neighborhood improvement district tax for 16 years or so too.  It was for the sewers and was an extra 1600 a year.  Very tempting since the house was so nice and was such a good price.
