**Nashville Nesties**

Hi girls! DH and I are heading to Nashville the first week of June (Wed-Sun). We will be going to the CMA Fest on Thursday and Friday, but is there anything else that we must do while in town? I think we are going to try and get some of the tourist places in, but would love some insight on other places we should go to. Thanks!

Re: **Nashville Nesties**

  • Hi Lindsay,

I don't know if this classifies as touristy or not, but I would suggest the Belle Meade Plantation and Cheekwood Botanical Gardens, especially if you have nice weather.  They are both close to each other and less than 10 miles from downtown.  It would also be a different view of Nashville than downtown.  I just moved here recently so I haven't actually been there yet myself, but I'm hoping to go soon.  You could also check out the Hermitage, which is Andrew Jackson's home.

    Have fun!

  • We posted this on our wedding website for our friends & family from out of town:

     Downtown Nashville

    The Honky Tonk's on Broadway
No cover ever, cheap drinks and always great music at any of them.
And there about 20+ to choose from. Pick yourself up a cowboy hat while you're at so you fit in.

Some of our favorites: The Stage, Tootsie's, Robert's Western World
And don't forget to drop a dollar or two in the tip jar when it is passed to you!

    BBQ lunch at Jack's BBQ
We think it's the best authentic barbecue in town!
Located right between two honky tonks on Broadway.

    The famous Ryman Auditorium
People always ask if you've been to the Grand Ole Opry but why go there
when the Ryman is the real historic music hall! Located on Broadway behind Tootsies.

    Country Music Hall of Fame
Beautiful modern building. We haven't been there yet but heard it's great.

    Hermitage Area

    President Andrew Jackson's Hermitage Plantation
If you're wanting to see a real plantation, this is one to see!
Beautiful grounds with huge oaks and you can tour the 200 year old house and gardens.
This is where we take all of our out of town guests.

    Franklin Area

    Historic Downtown Franklin
Don't miss out on this hugely cute historic downtown.
Lots of antique shops mixed in with higher-end home decor stores.
Plenty of photo ops and strolling around with ice cream cones.
You might even run into Kenny Chesney or Nicole Kidman, who knows?

    Carnton Plantation
Forever will now be known as "The plantation we almost had the wedding at."
That is until we realized we would have to bring in porta-potties for you! Yes, you can thank us later!
Another great historic plantation with a great guided tour.
This one is a bit more rustic than the Hermitage Plantation or Belle Meade,
but if you're in the area, stop by and take a few pictures.

    Opryland Area

Gaylord Opryland Hotel, Grand Ole Opry & Opry Mills Mall
This mammoth complex has everything the average tourist is looking for: Food, drink and entertainment.
The hotel shuttle will run you back and forth so it would be great for dinner & shopping if you wish.
The mall has a Rainforest Cafe, Dave & Busters (bar, restaurant, arcade, bowling),
Aquarium Restaurant (great for kids) among many other chains.
