Re: So slow

  • I started a new job shortly after Memorial Day-- so I actually have to get up and go  everyday. I still have to put on my "big girl panties" as it was a step down for me professionally and financially. But more than unemployment.

Doing 2 days of RAGBRAI at the end of July. Getting pumped, but still need more biking time in. DH is doing it with me this year--- he is so sore and needs to work on it more.

Possible road trip in August out to the east coast. Still working out details and getting time off from new job. I told new boss at interview about taking 2 weeks off, but she doesn't seem too happy with the idea now that I am working. What she doesn't realize is that the job I have is a temporary gig until either I start nursing school or something better comes up. Sucks that I think of it as a temp gig, but seriously, i am so bored at the job and I've been there less than a month. Plus way too much "spare time" to sit around. So not stimulated.

Going back to school this fall for a second degree. Taking nursing pre-reqs at the community college than transferring to a BSN program. Excited and scared at the same time. But I needed a new long term plan as my "old" career field won't cut it. I want to live quite a comfortable lifestyle ;)

  • Well...I just had a fun weekend to end the month! A friend and I drove to Chicago on Friday to see NKOTB (I know, I know...). It was a blast! It wasn't the first time we've seen them, and I really hope its not the last! :o)

Then in 2 weeks we are throwing a suprise 65th b-day party for FIL. DH's idea, but I know I'll be doing all the work!

And in the end of July, DH and I will be going to NY to see my best friend and her family. She lives on Long Island, but I think we may make a trip to NYC since we haven't been there in probably 4 yrs. Should be a nice trip.

  • Yeah for New York! I'm nervous to drive down I-95 through NYC (a huge possibility on vacation). I've done it once before back when I considered myself a "city driver".... nowadays with all the country driving I do... yeah... Chicago makes me nervous. I'm in trouble.

I never drive my car over 45 MPH anymore.  It's not our nicer car, so we never take it out of town.  I drove from Decatur to Bloomington the other day. I was going 70 MPH and thought I was in hyperdrive or something.
