newbie ? : )-where is pesto at grocery store?
Never bought pesto before but need it for a recipe tonight. What aisle will it be in at grocery store? Thanks!
Re: newbie ? : )-where is pesto at grocery store?
TI, IUIs, IVF = c/ps and BFNs
it can be in two places - if it's refrigerated, it will be with the fresh pastas, olives, fancy cheeses, etc. which in my supermarket is near the deli and prepared foods.
if it's the jarred kind that doesnt need to be refrigerated before opening, it's usually with the oils/vinegars/condiments, or sometimes with the pasta sauces.
if you cant find it, ask for some help.
I usually make it at home (fresh basil, pinenuts, olive oil and parmesan cheese) but if you want to buy it already made, you can:
1) find it in the refrigerated section where you see the fresh pastas (like DiGiorgno brands)
2) look for a small jar in the pasta sauce aisle
If you buy it, I suggest getting the refrigerated section because it most likely won't have as many preservatives.
