Andrea just called to tell me that her coworker (who has been a foster parent for years, although out of a difference office than we are) recieved a call last night for a 12 month old boy in care.  The call came at 9pm and the matcher had been making calls for hours with no luck on placement.

 WTF??  I'm marching downstairs to call the social worker right.now.

I spoke w/ a new social worker (who will likely be assigned to us....eventually) and she was very very nice and apologized for all the delays but she warned us that it could be another 1-2 months.  Apparently the January class (we were March) just started recieving placement this week.  Ugh.

oh, and on second read of my OP, i realized it was unclear.  A's coworker did not take the placement - the call was out of desperation b/c she isnt currently accepting more children and doesnt take boys. That placement would, however, be perfect for us, and who knows where he ended up? So that's what drove me crazy

Ugh, I'm glad you are calling them!  If foster parents are needed so badly, they should GET MOVING ON THE PAPERWORK!

It's so frustrating!!!  We had something similar happen and it made me crazy. I couldn't understand why our phone wasn't ringing when I heard stories like this.

That has to be sooo disappointing. I hope the new social worker helps move things along!
